AI shopping visibility for Shopify brands · UK

When shoppers ask AI what to buy, are you in the answer?

More people start product searches in ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity instead of Google. They ask, and the AI names two or three brands. Most Shopify brands are never one of them. We fix that.

The realityThere's no page two on an AI recommendation

Search is splitting in two.

People still Google things. But more and more, when they want a recommendation, they ask an AI assistant instead, and they trust the shortlist it gives back. That shortlist is the new shelf. If your brand isn't on it, the buyer never knows you exist.

Sept 2025
OpenAI and Stripe launch the Agentic Commerce Protocol and Instant Checkout in ChatGPT — the first time an AI assistant could recommend and transact directly.

In-chat checkout proves clunky and gets pulled back. The lasting shift isn't buying inside the chat — it's the AI deciding which brands to recommend in the first place.
Now
The discovery layer is where brands win or vanish. Whoever the AI names gets the buyer. Almost no UK Shopify brand has optimised for this yet.

The 60-second test that should worry you.

Open ChatGPT. Type: "What's the best [your category] under £[price point] UK?"

If your brand isn't in the answer, your competitor is. The shopper now has three names and none of them are yours. Your Instagram, your ad spend, your SEO ranking — none of it reached this moment. The decision happened inside the chat, without you.

We run that test for you across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot, document it with real screenshots, and show you exactly where you stand against the brands that did show up. Free.

We've already run this on dozens of UK beauty and skincare brands. Most were invisible for their own core products.

› ChatGPT: A few good options are The Ordinary, Q+A, and Weleda — all balancing quality ingredients with value at that price...

Three layers, one outcome.

AI assistants choose what to recommend using a learnable set of signals. We work through every one — starting with a diagnosis of why you're invisible, then fixing what's actually causing it.

L01
Discoverability

Can the AI find and read you in the first place?

  • Buyer-intent prompt testing across all 4 major AI surfaces
  • robots.txt audit — catches AI crawlers blocked by accident
  • llms.txt setup with full product taxonomy
  • Sitemap and crawl-path completeness
  • Product feed verification
L02
Data Quality

Can the AI parse you cleanly and accurately?

  • Schema.org / JSON-LD product markup on every product page
  • Attribute completeness (material, size, GTIN, brand)
  • Open Graph and canonical URL cleanup
  • Price and stock data accuracy
  • AggregateRating schema linked to your reviews
L03
Trust & Citation

Will the AI trust you enough to recommend you?

  • Review signal strategy (volume and recency both matter)
  • Third-party citation and mention building — what AI models actually weigh
  • Structured returns and shipping policies
  • Comparison and FAQ content built for AI answers
  • Monthly tracking of where you appear, and against whom

Start with a diagnosis.

Every engagement starts by finding out why you're invisible — that's the audit. From there you can take the roadmap and run it yourself, or have it done for you. Pilot pricing for the first 3 clients. After that, rates rise.

"A brand can do everything right — great products, strong Instagram, solid SEO — and still be completely invisible the moment a shopper asks AI for a recommendation. That gap is what I work on."

I'm Owais Akhtar, founder of OA Automation. I'm 18 and UK-based. I got into this because I kept noticing that the AI tools people now use to decide what to buy were quietly skipping over good, established brands — and almost nobody was treating it as a fixable problem.

This is the only thing I do. Not a generalist agency adding "AI" to a list of services — a narrow focus on one question: when someone asks an AI what to buy, why aren't you in the answer, and how do we change that.

Questions you probably have.

Isn't this just SEO with a new name?
It overlaps, but it isn't the same. SEO optimises a page to rank in a list of blue links. AI assistants don't return a list — they return two or three recommendations, and increasingly the buyer never visits a site at all. The signals that decide who gets named (structured data, review and citation strength, how clearly an AI can parse you) only partly overlap with classic SEO. A brand can rank well on Google and still be invisible in ChatGPT.
My site is already technically fine. So why am I invisible?
Often it isn't a single obvious technical fault — which is exactly why it's worth diagnosing. Invisibility usually comes from some mix of incomplete structured data, weak or thinly-referenced review signals, and a lack of the third-party mentions AI models lean on when deciding who to trust. The audit's job is to tell you which of those is actually holding you back, rather than guessing.
How do you measure it?
Before-and-after queries across all four AI surfaces, using a fixed set of buyer-intent prompts for your category. Everything is documented with screenshots, tracked over time, and reported monthly against your top competitors so you can see exactly where you're gaining ground.
My platform isn't Shopify — can you help?
Most of the work is platform-agnostic: structured data, llms.txt, product feeds, review and citation strategy. Shopify is just where I focus first. WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento and headless setups are all workable — custom builds I'd quote separately.
How long until I see results?
Some changes — schema, feeds, crawler access — can register within a week or two as AI surfaces re-crawl. Shifts in how often you're recommended typically build over 30–60 days. The monthly retainer exists precisely because this is an ongoing signal game, not a one-time switch.
Why you, and why so cheap?
I'm early in building this, so the first few clients get pilot pricing in exchange for being case studies — the same work later clients will pay more for. You're not paying for a big agency's overhead. You're getting a narrow specialist who's looked at this harder than most people charging triple.
